Mods Should be Open Source?

Mods should be open source. I am not saying this alone. Majority of people visiting this blog said that mods should be open source while others said yes mods should be open source but they hate stealers.... You should be asking who is a stealer? A stealer is a person who use someone's mod and upload it elsewhere under his name.

Now we come to our poll question. Open Source means that mods will be free to edit, everybody can edit them the way they want. There are no restrictions in Open Source Mods except one, that is you should upload that mod under the real author name. Once your mod is open source, people are free to edit/share it, they can even upload it but under your name!
The interesting thing about this poll is Nobody voted for "No"!

Many people who like work of modders give credit to them. And they should give credit to real authors because it helps them make more good mods. If someone do not give credit to real author, he will stop uploading his mods to public. There are many videos in YouTube in which you will find a mod which can not be found elsewhere. Those mods are private. Those mods are not available to anyone except the author. This is the reason why you should give proper credits to real author of the mod.

Lastly, I would like to say that many mods which are uploaded daily are still open source, but you have to take permission from the author before editing or uploading it elsewhere. Taking permission is not a hard or time consuming process. It takes maximum 5 minutes -_- ! Just find the contact info (email, facebook id or any other social network url of him), make your new account on that site (so you can contact him) then send him a good message like "Hey, I like your mod and would like to edit it, I will give credit to you if I uploaded it elsewhere!" etc etc. I hope he will give you permission to do this. Yeah some modders don't like it so they don't give permission. If you can not find his contact info in that page, you can contact him by commenting on that page (if you can) or contacting him through the site you find mod in.

The main reason of this poll was to tell everybody that open source mods make newbies learn modding and make modding more cool.
